You are chic, sophisticated, and cultured. And you go crazy if you're not around similar people. Living in the suburbs would feel like dying to you. You can't stand the cookie cutter restaurants, casual fashions, and chain restaurants. What you love about the city is all its opportunities. Yes, it's expensive, but in your opinion it's worth it. You may be a bit of a snob, and you're willing to accept that. At least you live well!
