Count your garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall.
Count your days by golden hours, don't remember clouds at all.
Count your nights by stars, not shadows.
Count your years with smiles, not tears.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
Count your age by friends, not years.--Lyvonn Berry

Front Door Personality Test
What Your Front Door Says |
You are bold, brave, and easily excited. You are passionate about what you believe. And you're never afraid to tell people exactly what you think. You're picky and particular. It's sometimes hard to meet your standards. |
Tagged!
My dear friend and P.E.O. sister Kathleen tagged me on this. Kinda ironic considering that just a few hours before we were discussing our utter hatred of cheesy email forwards. She gets a ton of them from her family, I get a ton from my mother. We both delete most without reading them. Good news for Kathleen is that I like things like this and don't consider them anything like email forwards. Without further ado:
The rules:
A. The rules are posted at the beginning
B. Answer the questions about yourself
C. Tag someone at the end, let them know in a comment on their blogs that they have been tagged.
What were you doing 10 yrs ago?
I was living in Salt Lake City, Utah (Holladay to those that consider it a city) in a townhouse with my mother. I was Business Manager of her speech-pathology private practice.
Snacks I enjoy:
1. Clam Dip and chips
2. Cheese
3. Yogurt
4. Fresh Fruit
5. Nuts
Five things on my to-do list today:
1. Finalize details for an upcoming tradeshow
2. Finish report from the last tradeshow
3. Dial for dollars
4. Chip away at a project that I am working on for my little brother's birthday.
5. Learn more about iMovie.
Things I would do if I became a billionaire:
1. Buy a really great house.
2. Get a dog.
3. Own my own business, be my own boss.
4. Donate really big checks (you know, the ones written on poster board) to worthy organizations.
5. Travel. The top of the list would be Italy, Alaska and Mexico.
3 bad habits:
1. Biting my nails.
2. Swearing.
3. Falling asleep on the couch.
5 places I have lived:
1. Salt Lake City, Utah
2. Corvallis, Oregon
3. Alexandria, Virginia
4. Lawrenceville, New Jersey
5. Seattle, Washington
Jobs I have had:
1. Nanny
2. Wedding Planner
3. Volunteer Services Coordinator
4. Marketing Coordinator
5. National Accounts Manager
Things many people don’t know about me:
1. I am an introvert.
2. I love Gladiolus.
3. I hate being around poorly behaved children.
4. I have a difficult time dealing with stupid people.
I'm tagging Katharine.

Platinum!
A conversation that took place earlier today between my younger brother, Jimmy, and I.
Me: What is your favorite color? **
Jimmy: Platinum
Me:
Jimmy: That was supposed to be funny.
Me: Well, I wasn't sure, at times you can be a bit unusual streak and it's not completely out of consideration that your favorite color is indeed platinum.
Jimmy: My favorite colors are royal blue and lime green.
Me: I've made note of it.
Jimmy: And platinum too!
** This question was posed "Monty Python style" and if you don't know what I'm referring to you really should watch the video below.

Weekend Wrap-Up Catch-Up
Wow! Time flies. I'm 2 weeks behind in my weekend posts so here are the past 2 weekends condensed into one entry. Enjoy!
April 4- 6
April 4- 6
- Loitered for 40 minutes at the Alaska Airlines counter where it took 8 employees to check me in for my flight from Burbank to Seattle. The silver lining was the 1st class upgrade that for my trouble.
- Enjoyed quite a few glasses of wine on the flight back to Seattle, perfect to alter my thinking away from all things L.A.
- Dined at Bell Street Diner with Don after he picked me up from the airport.
- Happy to be back in my own bed and enjoyed a FABULOUS night of sleep.
- Started the day Saturday with laundry and coffee which has become our usual but I'm not sure I ever completely woke up from my sleep/home induced fog.
- Took a lovely nap.
- Made clam dip, ordered Chinese food and watched Raiders of the Lost Ark with Kat on Saturday evening.
- Organized, cleaned and enjoyed a day to myself at home. I don't mind traveling for work but I love being home.
- Played pool with Don at Rock Bottom on Friday night. I had spent two weeks basking in the glory of my recent win but went down in a ball of fire with only 1 win to his *too numerous to count* wins.
- Stopped for coffee on our way to Bothell to pick up Kat and have breakfast at Maltby Cafe.
- Ran errands in the Woodinville/Bellevue area.
- Traveled *around the pond* to Dave and Kristen's house in Port Orchard for John's (the cutest nephew in the world) 2nd birthday celebration. I took tons of pictures which I haven't had time to upload from the camera. Party was fun but overwhelming and when I found myself wiping frosting off some random child because his own mother hadn't bothered to notice, it was time to go.
- Enjoyed an appetizer and a few drinks at Silver City Restaurant & Brewery before heading back to the Seattle via the Kingston-Edmonds ferry and Bothell to drop Kat off at home which turned out to be only a few hours after her normal bed time.
- Unwound with Don and a cup of coffee at Cheesecake Factory in Bellevue.
- Enjoyed a day at home on Sunday. When I climbed into bed that night I realized that I didn't speak to another person all day which initially I thought was odd and then realized that it was just what I needed.

Weekend Wrap-Up
It was a busy, jet-setting weekend. The highlights:
- Played pool with Don at Rock Bottom on Friday night and I actually won 7 of the 12 games we played, although most of the wins were thanks to scratches.
- Woke early on Saturday to do one load of laundry (stuff I needed for the trip) and enjoy breakfast at Queen Anne Cafe with Don.
- Packed my bags and organized the house to get ready to leave.
- Had a good flight to Anaheim in which I was seated next to a 5 year-old who was headed to Disneyland with his family and anxious to meet Goofy!
- Checked in and got settled at my hotel.
- Walked down the street and got a sub from Quizno's and went back to the room to eat it while I watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason which was on TNT.
- Woke to a gray "Seattle-type" day on Sunday, so I relaxed in the room while I caught up on my RSS feeds, checked my email and uploaded the pictures from the Cannon Beach trip to Flickr.
- Walked to Downtown Disney where I had lunch on the patio at Tortilla Jo's and soaked up the sunshine.
- Picked up some Disney goodies at the World of Disney store.
- Took a cab back to the hotel and took a nap.
- Spent the evening in my hotel relaxing.
- Watched Fun with Dick and Jane which was just as stupid as I thought it would be.
