Disney World Fireworks
A couple of pictures of the fireworks from Disney World that I saw from my hotel room balcony last night. It was good practice with my new digital camera. Despite the distance these turned out well so I can't imagine what the pictures will look like that I am able to take up close next week. :-)

Introverted Girl
You Are An Introvert! |
You're not necessarily anti-social, but you do tend to need a lot of alone time. You tend to think before you talk, which doesn't make you the loudest person in the room. While you aren't outgoing, you are a good listener - and you tend to be a loyal friend. And you enjoy your friends as much as any extrovert does, in smaller doses. You're more of a conversation over dinner type than a party animal... and so are all your friends. |

A Few Good Expenses
Sent to me by my former boss who would have no problem expensing a whoopi cushion if he thought he could get away with it. In my daily routine, I refer to "volume control" and "total cost of ownership" so this made me chuckle. Enjoy!

Quote of the Day
A conversation with a colleague about accountability reminded me of the following quote this monring. I first heard it when I was teaching customer service at a previous job. It has always stuck with me because I believe it to be true, we do make our weather!
I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.
--Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
